In ‘ Lagoon ', I wanted to try to capture the hidden depths of a lagoon, which is an allusion to one's subconscious mind. The underlying depths of calm, still Lagoon waters moving every so slightly on the surface are illuminated by a fiery hot sunset perforating through the clouds behind the beach as the gentle waters lap against the shoreline. So much of our respective lives are spent within the subconscious, trying to bring ourselves out into the light.
To quote the French Algerian philosopher Albert Camus "There is no sun without shadow, and it is essential to know the night.”
